Gail Elizabeth Anderson

Gail Elizabeth Anderson died suddenly but peacefully on May 4, 2013. She was the daughter of Eddie and Joanna Anderson, a native of Kingsport and a life long member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. After attending Tennessee Technology University she worked in Nashville and Knoxville before returning home to Kingsport to stay. She was the primary care giver for her mother during the last year of her life and helped her family deal with this very difficult time with her tenacity and loving care.

She is survived by her father, Eddie Anderson, sister, Lucinda Anderson Gash, and brothers, Eddie Anderson and Mark W. Anderson. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy: Jessica Rose Anderson, Rachel Elizabeth Anderson, Edward Mason Gash, and Christopher Jon Anderson. She delighted in sending cards and selecting the perfect gifts.

Gail spent time with both the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Kingsport, where she held the position of Director of Community Investment and Communication. She was a 2005 graduate of Leadership Kingsport and served on the Leadership Council in 2008 and 2009. Between growing up in Kingsport and working in the public she seemed to know "everybody." Her lasting friendships and work relationships were something she treasured.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Michael Lester officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers please donate to an organization of your choice and give somebody a hug.

With loving memories and thanksgiving for our time with her.
