Garnett L. Collins, 74, Kingsport, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in West Virginia, she later resided in Chattanooga.
Mrs. Collins retired from the Chattanooga City School System where she taught First and Second Grades and Special Education for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Fannie Adkins; and husband, George M. Collins, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Sarah Jane Bruner and husband Mark of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Bruner and Collin Bruner; one sister, Gretchen Donahue and husband Mike of Man, WVA; one brother, Bud Adkins and wife Nancy of La Quinta, CA; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Collins of Chattanooga; and sister-in-law, Sara Benson of Oak Ridge.
Services will be held at a later date in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
