Gary "Wayne" Horn

Gary “Wayne” Horn, 65, of Concord, NC, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Atrium Health University Hospital. Born in Rantoul, IL, on November 12, 1953, son of Vaughn and Jean Horn, he graduated from Ravenswood High School in West Virginia in 1971. Gary was a veteran, having served in the Air Force. He was employed by Wells Fargo in Charlotte. Gary will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, and friend who loved reading, playing chess, and enjoying time with friends.

He is survived by his parents, Vaughn and Jean Horn of Kingsport; sister, Sandra Khan and husband Bob of Carlsbad, California, and Melinda McCoog and husband John of Kingsport; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Dan Copeland, Dr. Jayme and Dr. Will Vogt, Christina Arose, Katherine and Tom Bateman, Zachary  and Stacey Arose; nine great nieces; and one great nephew.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
