Gary Joseph Kerr

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of Gary Joseph Kerr. Gary, age 79, leaves behind a brother, a wife, 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 dog, 1 blind cat, a playful spirit, his desire to serve others, and his sense of adventure.

The middle of 3 boys from Western Pennsylvania, he married his local sweetheart, Peggy Lander. Gary and Peggy raised their 5 children in Northwest Indiana before retiring to the warm water of Tennessee.

Never burdened with events passed, he had an enthusiasm for what's to come. As a husband, Gary's devotion to Peggy only grew as the years passed. As a father, he was always as close as the sidelines, behind the other mitt or the voice of guidance. As a grandfather, the age gap was never apparent. If anything, it only narrowed.

The visitation will take place at St. Dominic's Church in Kingsport, TN Saturday, Feb 17th 9 am - 11 am. The funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 am with Father Michael Cummins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 5265, Kingsport, TN 37663. There is no burden with what has happened, but an enduring spirit that can be kept alive.
