Gary H. Robinson, 61, Blountville, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a kind man who loved his family, friends and dogs. Gary was known for his laughter and will be missed by his family and many friends. God had an important place in his life and he said his prayers every morning. He was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
His creativity was exhibited in his renovation of his old family home. Gary was an avid fan of NASCAR and old westerns. After working construction most of his life, he worked at Holston Defense Corporation where he retired.
Preceding him in death were his father, Rhea C. Robinson; and a nephew, William J. "Bill" Robinson.
Surviving are his loving companion, Eva, of Blountville; his mother, Vivian Pectol Robinson of Kingsport; one brother, Rhea C. Robinson, Jr. and wife Linda of Piney Flats; and one nephew, John R. Robinson of Piney Flats.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be held at Noon Saturday at Latture Family Cemetery in Blountville with Dr. Anne LeCroy officiating. Pallbearers will be Dwight Hubbard, Gene White, "Smoke" Harrison, Tom Stacy, Greg Van Tassell, Eddie Stipe, and Donivan Jones.
