Gary Raymond Watson

Gary Raymond Watson, 78, of Kingsport passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at his home. He was born October 13, 1946 in Kingsport to the late Sydney and Jeanell Watson. Gary was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Gary owned and operated Gary’s outboard Marine – Johnson Outboard Motors. In 1974 he met and married one Paulette Droke.

Gary seemed to know “everybody” in Kingsport. He was a devoted friend, and friends felt the same for him. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with friends and family.

Those left to cherish his memory are cousins, Patty Bledsoe, Janice Henley, LeAnn Spangler (Tony), Ritchie Henley (Karen), Trudy Watson Price and Benny Wampler.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Anita and James Frady officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport to help defray funeral costs.
