Gene Christian

Gene Christian, 62, Sulphur Springs, went home to be with the Lord Saturday March 27, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Gene enjoyed all types of fishing and being with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Christian, Jr. and Newman "Tiny" Christian; half-sister, Mary Lester; and half-brother, James Christian.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Louise Christian; son, Shawn Christian; granddaughter, Shawna Christian; half-brother, Robert Carrol; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Glenn Gibson; sister-in-law, Joan Christian; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Cheryl Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Friday April 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Reed officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
