Gene Taylor
Gene Taylor, 67, Blountville, went to be with the Lord Saturday July 18, 2009 surrounded by his children.
He was a retired farmer. Gene loved bluegrass and gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jeannie Bell Taylor; brother, Frank Taylor; and sister, Marie Hite.
Surviving are his daughter, Betsy Gregg and husband, Sam; sons, Danny Taylor and wife, April, and Robbie Taylor; three grandchildren, Joshua Gregg, and Amber and Daniel Taylor; brothers, Roy, John, and Reece Taylor; sisters, Alice Kate and Maude Perkins; special nephew, John Puckett; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A memorial services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bishop Paul and Rev. Margaret Price officiating. Music will be provided by Josh and Cory Collins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Walkers Fork Cemetery.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Wilcox Hall for taking such special care of their Dad.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, ATTN: Mrs. Wanda Grills, 1217 Radcliffe Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37664.
