Geneva Gertrude Littleton Baines, 95, of Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011.
Born in Fall Branch, she had lived most of her life in this area. She was a wonderful mother and a great cook. Mrs. Baines was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskel Baines; two sons, Bobby and Galen Baines; an infant daughter, a grandson, Joey Baines; one sister; and eight brothers.
Survivors include: four daughters, Nancy Burgner and husband Tom of Chattanooga, Judy Hart and husband Gene of Pensacola, FL, Brenda Sanders of Kingport, Linda Corum and husband Larry of Kingsport; three sons, Haskel Baines, Jr. of Jonesborough, Jimmy Dale Baines of Kingsport, Gary Baines and wife Billie of Jonesborough; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; a sister, Vella Baines of Jonesborough; two brothers, Dee Littleton and wife Earldene, Gene Littleton and wife Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday February 26, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Fall Branch with Dr. Tom Burgner and Pastor Vic Wallace officiating. Special music will be provided by grandchildren, Mike Burgner and Angela Darlene Baines Johnson. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steve Baines, Jeff Burgner, Todd Burgner, Mike Burgner, David Hart, and Gary Baines, Jr.
