Geneva Davidson Steadman

Geneva Davidson Steadman, 81, of Sullivan Gardens, died at 5 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Geneva was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area.

She was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.

Her parents, Virgie and Echol Davidson; and a brother, Paul Davidson preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert N. "Bob" Steadman of Kingsport; three sons, Joe Steadman of Kingsport, Mark Steadman and wife Jacqui of Johnson City, and Jeff Steadman of Kingsport; two grandchildren, John Steadman and Samantha Steadman; two sisters, Loree Lucas and husband Paul of Kingsport and Betty Harris of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Bob Davidson of Kingsport and Harry Kay Davidson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Rev. Dale M. Gilbert officiating.

Interment will follow at Depew's Chapel Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
