Geneva Sue Turner, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord April 27, 2019, at her home.
She was born in Harlan Kentucky to the late Roy and Ollie Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gathel Turner; daughter, Shera Turner; sisters, Marie Greer, Sophie Baker and Thelma Branham.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Gina Barron and husband, John of Kingsport; son, Dwain Turner, Jr. and wife, Alisha of Kingsport; 7 grandchildren, Michaela and fiancé , Gordon Inman, Lacey, Nick and Katrina Barron, Calin, Isaiah and Elijah Turner; great-grandchildren, Rylee Turner and Neal Cole; sister, Gladys Maddox; two brothers, Junior Baker and wife Phyllis, Archie Baker and wife Geri; brother and sister in law, Deon and Jeanette Turner; best friends of 52 years, Debbie and Raymond Sanders and many very special nieces, nephews and family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Church of Jesus Christ in Kingsport. The service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Sanders and Rev. Archie Baker officiating.
The graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at the Telford Cemetery in Telford, TN. Those attending need to meet at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession.
Pallbearers will be Jason Tipton, Joe Neal, Gordon Inman, Jason McCracken, Angel Strong, and Alex Hale. Honorary pallbearers will be Calin Turner, Nick Barron, Isaiah Turner, and Eli Turner.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Alisha Turner and Amedysis Hospice.
