Geneva Barnes Wood
Geneva B. Wood, 86, of Kingsport, passed away in the arms of God Thursday, April 18, 2008, at Asbury Center at Baysmont after an extended illness.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, and loved her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, William G. Wood; three sisters, Emma Baker, Lucile Barnes, Billie Berry; and one brother, Leon Barnes.
Surviving are two sons, John W. Wood and wife, Jennifer of Kingsport, Edward J. Wood of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Lindsay Gentile and husband Frank of Raleigh, NC, David Wood of Raleigh, Austin Wood and Hunter Wood, both of Kingsport; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Gentile; two special nieces; and a special friend, Lou Hawk.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Baysmont.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Entombment services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Mausoleum. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
