George R. Bragg, 72, Kingsport, passed away at 9:22 p.m. on Saturday September 5, 2009 at Wellmont HVMC following a brief illness.
George was born in the Lone Star community where he had lived his entire life. He attended Sullivan High School. Mr. Bragg was an employee of Latimer and Looney Chevrolet where he worked as a mechanic until 1967. He then worked as an electrician, retiring from Fluor in 2004.
George attended Walkers Fork Baptist Church. May God have mercy on his soul; he was a friend and loved everyone he met and they loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Austin and Mellie Phillips Bragg; brothers, I.J. Bragg and Tommy Bragg; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Gass.
Surviving are his wife, Bea Bragg, of the home; son, Robert Bragg, Kingsport; grandson, Dalton Bragg; two sisters, Helen Dykes and husband, Miles, Kingsport, and Ruby Bragg, Kingsport; two special sisters-in-law, Marlene Bragg and Helen Guy; two nieces; two nephews, and one special nephew, Scott Guy.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Ronnie Baxter officiating.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
