George R. Cloud, 92, Kingsport, passed away late Saturday, November 9, 2013.
George was born in Kingsport where he had lived his entire life. He retired from Eastman in 1963. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. George was a member of Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer of Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church. He was the caretaker and treasurer of Old Kingsport Presbyterian Cemetery for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Kilgore Cloud; his second wife, Edith Cobb Cloud; and brothers, Paul and Jack Cloud.
George is survived by his son, Larry Edward Cloud and wife, Janice, Kingsport; grandchildren, Lindsay Cloud Dungan and husband, Nathan and Preston Cloud and wife, Van, all of Knoxville; great-grandson, Andrew Dungan; and step-daughter-in-law, Norma Cobb of Cheraw, SC.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Weikel officiating.
The burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military graveside honors by American Legion Posts 3/265. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Droke, Jack Arnold, Lucian Lawson, Tim Cloud, Mike Cloud, Darryl Cloud, and Randy Cloud.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church, 2049 Greenway Street, Kingsport, TN, 37660.
