George Davis

George Harmon Davis, 83, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2018 peacefully at home.

George had been a barber for over 60 years in Kingsport. He attended Liberty Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charity and Nick Davis; his first wife, Evelyn Davis; and brothers, John D., Stewart and Wallace Davis.

George is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Anthony and wife, Misty; granddaughter, Shandi Fairweather and husband, Micheil; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Vanessa Fairweather; brothers, Gary and wife, Dorothy, and Jimmy and wife, Brenda; aunt, Neely Hagy; and uncle, Bob Roberts.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Scalf and Rev. David Roller officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Monday at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Wineger, Jeff Winegar, Danny Livesay, Steve Davis, Gale Osborne, John Patterson and Ethan Starnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Patterson, Dewey Starnes and Billy Harmon.
