George English

George English, 71, of Greene County, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. George was born in Greene County. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 - 1972, and later moved to Colonial Heights for 27 years before retiring back in Greene County. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. George was the owner/operator of English Motors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kate English; father, George English; and brother, J.W. English.

George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teresa "Terry" English; daughter, Jennifer Sutherland and husband, Michael; son, Greg English and wife, Jenny; the loves of his life, grandchildren, Michaela and Chloe Sutherland, Abigail, Isabella, and Brody English; siblings, Ray English and wife Doris, Louise Matthews, Charles English and wife Jean, Rita Justis and husband Danny, Glenda Crawford and husband Mike, and Kay Rutledge; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Kate Rollins officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rex Brown officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randy English, Ken English, Rob English, Lewis Justis, Keith Justis, Jim Burton, Bill Maxson, and David Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Jaynes, Mike Hale, Randall Stidham, Charlie Sorrels, and Bill McCoy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
