George F. Teague, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at his home following a brief illness. Born in Newport, TN, he had resided in Kingsport since 1973. George had retired from the U.S. Air Force with 23 years of service and was a Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the Air Force George went to work at Tennessee Eastman, working in research until he retired. He was a Mason and member of the V.F.W., the East TN Corvair Club and a member of Belvue Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruby Teague, and brother, Fred Teague.
George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myra Yeary Teague; daughter, Neressa Teague Priskorn and husband, Mike of Kingsport; son, Darren Teague and wife, Cindy of Kingsport; 5 grandchildren, Tyra Teague, Travis Teague, Todd Derry, Julia Teague and Matthew Parsley; 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor Lemmons, Alana Swafford, Darian Teague and Jayda Teague; brother, John Teague of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
It was George's wish to have his body donated to the Quillen College of Medicine.
The family will have a memorial service on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Belvue Christian Church with Dr. John Owston and Dale Edwards officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688 F.&A.M. The family receive friends at the church following the service.
