George W. Patrick

George W. Patrick, 94, Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 following a brief illness at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born December 17, 1915 in Appalachia, VA, Mr. Patrick had been a resident of Kingsport since an early age and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 46 years of service.

Mr. Patrick was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.

He always enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.

His wife, Cassie Patrick; parents, Henry W. and Etta Patrick; six brothers; and five sisters preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Arnold and husband Ronald and Sandra Johnson; two sons, Larry W. Patrick, Sr. and wife Linda and Thomas L. Patrick; grandchildren, Rhondia Lightner and husband Randy, Larry W. Patrick, Jr., Liana Smith and husband Doug, Amber Richardson and husband Deron; great-granddaughter, Cyerra Turner and special great-grandson, Leyton Patrick; and step-great-grandchildren, Phillip Lightner III and wife Lindsay, Victoria Lightner, Nicole and Bailey Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with The Rev. Dr. Steve Galyon and Rev. Homer Roller officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Church Hill Health Care Rehab staff for the special care given to their father and also the Wellmont Hospice staff and especially Dr. Dena Smith.
