George Edwin Reed, Sr
George Edwin Reed, 73, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and Vanderbilt University. George worked in the training and personnel departments of Holston Defense, Tennessee Eastman Company and Nuclear Fuel Services.
George was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Margaret Reed.
Surviving are two sons, George Reed and wife Cindy, Waynesboro, VA; Bobby Reed and wife Susan Hall, Chicago IL; and one grandson, David Reed, Waynesboro, VA.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday July 23, 2011 in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. David A. Cagle officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 100 West Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.
