George M. Rich

George M. Rich, 92, Kingsport, died at home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on June 15, 1919. George resided in Yorktown Heights, NY from 1956-1976 and retired to Stuart, Florida in 1976. He had lived in Kingsport since 2003. George was a Staff Sgt. in the US Army during WWII from 1942-1945. He worked at County Trust Company/Bank of NY from 1946-1976. George was married for 53 years to the late Florence McCahan Rich. They were married on December 15, 1945. George was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Kingsport, TN.

He is survived by his four children, Robert Rich and wife, Carol of Glenwood Springs, CO, Margaret Ristau and husband, Jack of Hampton, NH, Peter Rich and wife, Judy of Kingsport, and Elizabeth See and husband, Ralph of Shenorock, NY; eleven grandchildren, Bobbie Rich, Lindsey Rich, Jon Ristau and wife, Michelle, Jeff Ristau, Greg Ristau, Patrick Rich and wife, Beth, Amanda Rich, Emily Rich, Stefanie See, Jake See and Jesse See.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday June 10th, at Bible Baptist Church.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care for the excellent care given to George over the past few months, and for the on-going concern for his family. The outpouring of love from members of Bible Baptist Church of Kingsport, pastored by Don McCann, is also very much appreciated.
