George "Adam" Taylor, 77, Blountville, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2008, at Greystone Health Care Center.
Born in Dorchester, Virginia, he served with the U. S. Air Force from 1946 until 1952. He was in truck sales in southwest Virginia more than 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Chaffin Taylor; a daughter, Libby Blizard and husband, Dave; two sons, George Taylor Jr., Mike Taylor and wife, Julie, all of Blountville; five grandchildren, Kori Taylor, Dale Taylor, Laura Blizard, Adam Taylor, Aaron Taylor; one great-grandson, Cadence Meadows; one sister, Joan Stallard of Blountville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Leland Houser officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Gunnings Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post 3382 of the V.F.W.
