Georgia Collins

Georgia Collins, 89, Church Hill, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born in Honaker, VA, and was a lifelong area resident. Georgia graduated from Radford University with a degree in elementary education. She retired from the Hawkins County school system after many years as an elementary school teacher. Georgia was a member of Kingsport, First United Methodist Church, which later became First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Collins, daughter, Sarah Collins who died in 2006, and her parents, Frazier and Oakley Akers.

Georgia is survived by her family, David McAbee, Jr. of Oklahoma, George McAbee of Oklahoma, Shelbourne Wallace and wife, Nancy of Bristol, TN, Gary Wallace and wife, Shanna of Durham, NC, Janice Clevenger and husband, Bill of Kingsport, and special neighbor and friend, Wayne Fields of Church Hill, TN.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, December 14th at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
