Georgia Drain

Georgia Drain, 91, Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Fall Branch. Georgia was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church and had retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria in Kingsport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ott Drain; parents, Charlie and Artie Ward; step-daughter, Linda Ruth Renner; stepson, Hubert Drain and wife, Barbara; granddaughter, Davina Maltsburger; 3 sisters, Patsy Gray and husband, Gene, Helen Eastep and husband, Ralph, and Mary Dunn; and 3 brothers, Roy Ward and wife, Barbara, Ray Ward and wife, Bobbie, and Robert "Pup" Ward.

Georgia is survived by 2 sons, David Maltsburger and wife, Betty, and Jeff Drain and wife, Sue; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Don Ward and wife, Clara; sister-in-law, Linda Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and to her caregivers, Orie, Betty and Janice for the care given to Georgia during her sickness.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Harold Morelock officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Cemetery of Fall Branch.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Ward, Les Ward, Jack Moffitt, Gayle English, Sammy Eastep, Howard Eastep, David Eastep, Orie Moffitt and Janice English.
