Georgia Fugarino

Georgia Fugarino, age 92, of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at James H. Quillen Medical Center. Georgia was born in Blountville, Tennessee on June 17, 1932, to the late Charles Ernest and Daisy White Nelson.

She served in the medical sector of the United States Army, where part of that time was spent working in the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Georgia and her husband, Anthony “Tony”, raised three boys: twins, Charlie and Sam and brother, Michael.

She was extremely knowledgeable in many historical subjects, specifically the history of the Civil War. She loved rocks and all things geology, and loved to travel, but her biggest love was cooking. She was a true gourmet chef. Georgia had a spunky and out-spoken personality with a passion for people.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, “Tony” Fugarino; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Betty Fugarino; and grandson, Sam Fugarino.

She is survived by her sons, Sam Fugarino of Cummings, Georgia and Charles Fugarino (Cheryl); grandchildren, Jessica, Sandra, Stefanie and Sarah; several nieces and nephews; her trusted dog, Max; and special friends; PJ and Charles Davis and their children, Dana and Corey.

A memorial service will take place at St. Dominic’s at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to For Pete’s Sake Animal Rescue, PO Box 1982, Bristol, TN 37620.
