Gerald Clifford Ketron, 65, Kingsport, went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 2:00 a.m. Saturday October 31, 2009 at his home.
Gerald will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He was a great inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. Before his health declined he loved to go fishing. Gerald was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sallie Ketron; sisters, Iva Jean Gilreath and Thelma Johnson Ketron; brothers, Vernon and Jerry Ketron; grandparents, Norval and Maude Ketron and Clifton and Bertha Duckworth.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Ann Mitchelle; sisters, Ruby Bell and husband J.C., Rita Day and husband Leon, and Terry Childers; brothers, Bearl Ketron and wife Elsie, David Ketron and wife Lisa, Robert Ketron Jr., Paul Ketron, Sam Ketron and Daney Ketron; brother-in-law, Bill Gilreath; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the medical staff and caregivers for the special care given to him.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Jackie McCracken officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
