Gerald Dwayne Montgomery

BOLD PRINT: Gerald Dwayne Montgomery, 52, of Wyandotte, Michigan, and formerly of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 20, 2007.

He retired from United Steel after more than 30 years of service. Gerald was an avid skier and was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

Preceding him in death were his father, Hershel Montgomery; his mother, Emogene Montgomery; grandmother, Adra Hinson; and grandfather, Carl B. Hinson.

Surviving are one son, Hershel Dean Montgomery, Kingsport; one granddaughter, Allison Montgomery; two brothers, Jessie Montgomery and wife, Janie of Kingsport, and Michael Rhoton of Kingsport; several aunts and uncles; and a special friend, Dennis Farris, Lincoln Park, Michigan.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Stout officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
