Gerald McKinley Shelton

Gerald Shelton, 71, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a life-long resident of Kingsport and graduated from Sullivan High School. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly served in Vietnam. He retired from the Kingsport Press. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Roxie Shelton; one brother, and one sister.

Gerald is survived by daughter, Kim Woods and husband, Job, Bluff City; one son, Kevin Shelton, and wife, Rebecca, Church Hill; two grandchildren, his pride and joy, Jake and Mason; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcoming anyone who would like to visit at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at any time.
