Geraldine Vivian Copas, 74, of Fall Branch peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, 8 pm at her home with her loving granddaughter and grandson-in-law by her side after a lengthy illness. She is now reunited with her family that passed before her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Dale "Bob" Copas, Sr.; parents, Mary and William Darnell, Sr.; brother, William "Bubby" Darnell, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Kiley Grace Copas.
Survivors include her granddaughter and caregiver Nicky Tittle and husband, Frankie of the home; great-grandsons Cody Good, Austin Good, and Clinton Tittle, all of Fall Branch; son Robert Dale "Tick-Tock" Copas, Jr. and wife of Fall Branch; sisters Betty Collins of Kingsport and Pauline Thornburg of Greeneveille; brother Frank Darnell and wife of Fall Branch along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will begin at 8 pm with Rev. Paul Presley officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Monday at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Fall Branch.
Pallbearers are James Tittle, Frankie Tittle, Hunter Gillenwater and Billy Gillenwater.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Hunter and his staff, the staff of Advanced Home Health Services, especially Aletha Lee, RN; "She is so special to us and will never be forgotten."; also the staff of Amedisys Hospice, RN Becky Lee, CNA Sheila Lloyd and special friend, Alisha "Mimie" Deyton, who are all so special to us and never forgotten. We love them all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the family to defer funeral expenses.
