Geraldine Bellamy Gray, 88, of Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
She was born in Scott County, VA and the daughter of the late William H. and Eliza Ellen Spivey Bellamy.
Geraldine was a licensed practical nurse for 40 years. She loved going to horse shows when she was able and watching them on television. She loved being visited by her grandchildren and she loved telling jokes. She was a member of St. Matthews Methodist Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gray, Sr.; brothers, Cecile, Carl, Hubbard, and Walter Bellamy; sisters, Minnie Pendleton, Fannie Davidson, Zella Manier, Dorothy Ketron, Vilis Sykes, Mildred Bellamy, and Lakie Peters.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Susan Gray of Kingsport; her son, Wally Gray and wife, Amy of Kingsport; four granddaughters, Amanda Eller, Amanda Dunham and husband, Justin, Brittany Gray, and Lily Gray; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Roller, Elijah Eller, and Emma Jane Dunham; sister, Daphne Bellamy Linville; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Donna Pickle for making the latter part of Geraldine's life livable.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Sunday at St. Matthews United Methodist Church. The service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Ray Amos officiating.
The graveside service will follow at Gunnings Cemetery in Blountville.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Bellamy, Richard Bellamy, Paul Ketron, Jim Ketron, William Ketron, Larry Gray, Sam Gray, and Steve Byrd.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to a charity of your choosing.
