Geraldine M. Kirkhuff, 95, of Kingport went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following a period of declining health.
Born in Tobyhanna, PA on August 19, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Vincetta Pope, she resided there most of her life, moving to Kingsport in 2007.
Mrs. Kirkhuff was a member of Tobyhanna United Methodist Church while living there. She currently was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mom, gram, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, William S. "Bill" Kirkhuff; brothers, Robert, Wilbur, Raymond, Donald, Phillip and Earl Pope; sisters, Katherine Hay and Lorraine Baird Moll.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Church Hill Health Care.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra L. Wilson and husband, Norman Sr. of Kingsport and Tami L. Kirkhuff and partner, Peggy Thompson of Harding, PA; three grandchildren, Norman Wilson, Jr., Scott E. Wilson and wife, Davina, and Brad E. Wilson and wife, Kimberly; five great grandchildren, Cassandra and partner, Caitie, Chelsea and husband, Brandon, Camille, Cyerah and Liam; three great-great grandchildren, Mason, Ebin and LillieOna; one sister Francis Hochrine of Cresco, PA; one brother, Stanley Pope, Fountain Inn, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Family graveside services will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in Oak Hill Memorial Park. The Rev. Caleb Frazier will officiate. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the graveside by 12:45pm Wednesday.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
