Geraldine (Gerry) Poe

Geraldine (Gerry) Poe, 78, of Church Hill (Carters Valley Community) went to her heavenly home Thursday, December 26, 2013.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Gerry was a caregiver most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother.

Surviving her children, William C. Poe and wife, Donna of Church Hill, Mark D. Poe and significant other, Melody Poe of Church Hill, Michael A. Poe of Church Hill, Teresa Lytle and husband, Roger of North Carolina, Lisa Ann Hicks and fiancé, Todd Dunn of Church Hill; six grandchildren, Cody Allan Poe, Derek Franklin Poe, Tabitha Ann Hicks, Nathan Morgan Poe, William C. Herrera, and Dusty Shane Poe; brother, Cloudous Stissel and wife, Catherine of Kingsport; two nephews, Bobby Stissel and Chris Darnell; niece, Melissa Overbay; and loving friends, Jean Barker, Linda Woods, and Sally Parton.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bland, David Bland, Harvey Bland, Eugene Bland, Rick Holt, Bobby Stissel, and Todd Dunn.
