Gilda "Jill" Sproles

Gilda "Jill" Sproles, 76, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord Sunday afternoon after an extended illness. She was born in Kingsport, where she resided all of her life. Jill retired from Wholesale Electric in 1996 after 37 years of service. She was a pianist and singer with the original Sproles Family Singers and Joyful Sounds. Jill attended First Apostolic Christian Church. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School.

Jill is preceded in death by her father - T.B. "Bruce" Sproles, mother- Marie Dalton Sproles, brothers - Hagal, Tyler Odell, Charles, Jack, Rev. Tom, and Bill Sproles; sisters - Ethel Albright and Maureen Felmet; special niece Judi Roland.

She is survived by sister - Georgia Flannery of Miamisburg, OH and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with David Spears officiating. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m.
