Gilmer Edward Puckett, Sr
Gilmer Edward Puckett, Sr., 87, Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully at noon Monday Jan. 31, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Wise County, VA, he resided in St. Paul, VA and moved to Columbus, Ohio where he resided for thirty years and worked at Silco Lineiens Industries retiring in 1982. He then worked for Dove Builders for nineteen years. Gilmer was a friend to all.
His parents, daughter, Susan Pearlee Puckett, and two brothers, James H. and Garland Puckett preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gilmer Edward Puckett, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Rita Gibson and husband Steve, Elizabethton, TN; five sons, Gilmer Puckett and wife Delores, Kingsport, TN; Hubert Puckett and wife Teresa, Myrtle Beach, SC; Joseph Puckett and friend Pam, Newport, TN; Roger Puckett and wife Brenda, Kingsport, TN; Fred Puckett and wife Teresa, Kingsport, TN; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Larry Bledsoe officiating.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Temple Hill Memorial Park.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
