Gladys "Eloise" Mitchell

Gladys "Eloise" Mitchell, passed away Thursday night, February 10, 2011 at her home where she was under hospice care.

Eloise lived a wonderful life rich with family and friends. She was a member of Cowans Branch Baptist Church and had not been able to attend for several years. Eloise was an employee of Eastman Kodak Company for 38 years where she worked and retired from the Kodel Lab.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Farland Mitchell and Mallie Ragle Mitchell; brothers, Albert, Mack G., and Orville; sisters, Myrtle Haynes, Nannie Rogers and Mable Moffett.

Survivors include three sisters, Jane Mitchell, Roberta Clark, Mary Ruth Click and husband, Fred; brother Melvin W. Mitchell and wife, Jo Ann, all of Kingsport; sister-in-law Jewell Mitchell of Shelby, NC; special nieces Karen Buck, Robin Jechura and husband, Mark; nephew Tim Mitchell and wife, Kelly; a host of other nieces and nephews; great-niece Ashlee Laura Buck; great-nephews Chet Mitchell Jechura, Preston Taylor Mitchell and Adam Edward Mitchell. The family would like to give special thanks to her niece, Jean Haynes.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Michael Wrye officiating.

Pallbearers are Mickey Mitchell, Dennis Clark, Roger Clark, Preston Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Daniel Phelps, Rick Shelton and Brett Shelton.
