Glen Davenport, 68, Gray, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 13, 2009. He will be remembered on this earth for his love of life. Glen was an avid baseball fan and coach. Glen coached baseball in the Gray community for 15 years. His most memorable season was in 1984 when his Daniel Boone Senior League team won the Tennessee State Championship. Dad was a lot of things to many people. He was a friend, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and soon to be great grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them develop into young ladies and men. His work ethic and passion for life will live on through his family and many friends. We would like to thank GOD for providing our family with a loving, caring, generous, and stern role model for our family.
To our earthly father, words cannot tell the story of our time together on this earth. We love and miss you and look so forward to seeing you and mom in heaven. Thank you for all the different ways you showed your love to us. Thanks for your time not only when we were children but when we were adults as well. We just hope we can be as good of a dad to your grandchildren as you were to us.
The family would like to thank all of our church families and friends for their prayers and support over the past few months. Our churches and friends gave us the strength we needed to get through these times.
