Glenda Parker

Glenda Parker, 68, of Fall Branch, TN, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, (Dec. 30, 2013) at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born in Kingsport on October 8, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Weldon and Norma Crawford Sells. She resided in this area her entire life.

Glenda married Marrell Parker, June 22, 1978. She was a member of Lovelace Baptist Church where she was church pianist for years. Glenda was a phlebotomist at Indian Path Medical Center prior to her employment at Eastman Kodak. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mom, mamaw, nana, and friend.

The family would like to extend a "special thank you" to Amedysis Hospice.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Dube, two brothers, Robert "Bob" Sells and Eddie Sells.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Marrell Parker of the home; daughter, Aneida Skeens and husband Danny, Fall Branch, TN; two sons, Michael Parker, and wife Teresa, Kingsport, TN; and Rickey Parker, Fall Branch, TN; three grandchildren, Justin Skeens, Jordan Skeens, and Sarah Parker Osborne and husband, Steven; sister-in-law, Ella Strickland and husband Barney, Fall Branch, TN; brother-in-law, Wayne Parker and wife Betty, Johnson City, TN; two aunts, Lucille Wallace and husband Gene, Fall Branch, TN; and Blanche McCray, Gray, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.

Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Brummett and Rev. Joe Wall officiating.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 2, 2014) at Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those attending the committal service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Thursday then proceed to the cemetery.
