Glenn Warren Davis, 96, Fall Branch, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 2, 1920 in Castlewood, VA. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and was a 50 year member of Johnson Lodge #274 of Fall Branch. Glenn was very intelligent and talented and built his own house and many other things. He said he was a "jack of all trades and a master of none." At the epilogue of his life, he was a great Christian man and loved by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Lola Conley, Myrtle Garrison, Madge Steadman, Nell Jackson, and Jean Bellamy; and one brother, Kermit Davis.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mrs. Eunice Faye Davis; their children, Ramona Cappetta, Joanne Foster and Jerry Davis; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Davis and Carl Davis; sister, Judy Reeks; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Bud Steadman officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Powell Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA, with military rites to be conducted by the American Legion Posts 3/265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
