Glenna Wright Fletcher

Glenna Wright Fletcher, 82, our beloved Mom and Granny went home to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 5, 2020.  Born in Grayson County, Virginia, she had lived in Kingsport since her childhood. Glenna graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 56’ and retired from North Electric/ITT. 

She was of the Methodist faith and had attended Grange Hall United Methodist Church, Pactolus United Methodist Church, and Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.  Glenna enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Bill, and their many golfing buddies.  Glenna and Bill were long-time members of the Crossings Golf Club, where Glenna made a hole in one.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lucille Wright; and husband, Bill Fletcher.

She is survived by her son, Duane Mowell and wife Brenda; daughter, Joraina Clark and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Christy, Matthew and wife Bobbie, Bradlee and wife Emily and Justin; great-grandchildren, Haley and McKenzie; sister, Gladys Gott and husband Fred; brother, Larry Wright and wife Glenda; several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. 

The family expresses grateful appreciation of the exceptional loving care of our Mom from her angels at Brookdale of Colonial Heights. 

A private family graveside service was conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Mountain Home National Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her husband, Bill. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, 1020 Jericho Dr, Kingsport, TN 37663 or Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
