Glynn E. Munsey

Glynn E. Munsey, 84, Kingsport, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday evening, July 14, 2019.  Glynn was born in Norton, VA and had lived in Kingsport for most of his life.  He graduated as Valedictorian from Lynn View High School class of ‘53.  He retired from Eastman Chemical where he was a systems analyst.  Glynn was of the Baptist faith.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all types of outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Lorraine Munsey; parents, L.V. and Nancy Munsey; and 2 sisters, Marilyn Sneed and Linda Loggans.

Glynn is survived by his son, Garry Munsey and wife, Tammy; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Wilson, and Ellen Hogan and husband, Tem; 3 grandchildren, Thomas Munsey, Christopher Bryant and Lauren Hilton; 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jane and Shayla; and 2 step-grandsons, Clayton Overbay and James Overbay.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.
