Goldie Ruth Vaughn Flatt, 64, Kingsport, TN, died Sunday evening, March 25th 2012 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport for the past several years. Goldie was a CNA and had a great love and passion for her work and was a member of Bloomingdale Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lila Ruth Crowe.
Goldie is survived by her husband, Freddie Flatt; son, Ronnie Myers and wife, Deffie of Apopka, FL; daughter, Porsha Taylor and husband, James of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Hanna Myers, Dakota Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Kayla Carter-Sandidge and Misty Carter; two great-grandsons, Joshua Sandidge and Jacob Sandidge; siblings, Kartrina Bender, Bradley Vaughn, Henry Vaughn, Hazel Vaughn, Mac Vaughn, Lonnie Vaughn, Ralph Vaughn, Dewey Vaughn and Linda Zoppo; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 10-11:00 am at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 with Pastor Donald Madden officiating. Interment at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery will follow the services. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
