Gordon Harrison, 69, Gray, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Gordon was the 12th son of the late Emory and Thelma Harrison. He was a dedicated, hard-working member of Wayland Free Will Baptist Church. Gordon was retired from the Washington County School System where he had worked as a custodian at Gray Elementary School and as a school bus driver. He was an avid antique collector, auctioneer and trader who loved to talk to people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers, and son-in-law, Matt Brant.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Glenda Harrison; 2 daughters, Shannon Adams and husband, Terry, and Brandy Castle and husband, Bo; son, Joey Harrison and wife, Kellie; 6 grandchildren, Alexa, Ethan, Heath, Karalyne, Brooke, and Allie; 3 great-grandchildren, Case, Canaan, and Castle Rose; sister, Barbara Ann Roberts; 5 brothers, G.N. Harrison, Carmel Harrison and wife, Darlene, Sam Harrison, Richard Harrison and wife, Judy, and Dave Harrison and wife, Joyce; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Wayland Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bo Castle and Rev. Darin Harrison officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Brant, Heath Castle, Terry Adams, Dustin Hall, Chaz Shipley, Guy McCray, Scott Buckingham and Alan Nave. Honorary pallbearers will be Case Hall, Canaan Hall, Steve Light, Mike Ford, Roger Clay, Waymond Manis, Jerry Davis, and G.N., Sam, Richard and Dave Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National M.S. Society, P.O. Box 9189, Washington, DC, 20090-1891.
