Grace W. Blalock
Grace Watkins Blalock, 82, of Kingsport, formerly of Atlanta, GA, died Tuesday night June 30, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Cherokee County, GA, she resided most of her life in Atlanta before moving to Kingsport on July 8, 2006.
Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Blalock; two sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are her daughter, Jackie Blalock Thomas and husband Jack of Social Circle, GA; two sons, Bill Blalock and wife Martha of Kingsport, and Jeff Blalock and wife Laranda of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Brittney, and Tyler; two sisters, Doris Hamby and Margie Sledge, both of Alpharetta, GA; two brothers, Delmar Watkins and Franklin Watkins, both of Alpharetta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, GA, with Jerry Hamby officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Asbury Center at Baymont and the fifth floor nursing staff at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church; c/o Friendship Diner; 100 E Church Circle; Kingsport, TN 37660.
