Grace Mae Lane Morelock

Grace Mae Lane Morelock passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Wexford House. She was born September 30, 1917 in Scott County, VA to Maldon Asbury and Mattie Louvena Quillen Lane. Grace was a member of Hilltop Mission Church. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother to all her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Barney" Morelock; infant son, Fred Erwin; two sons, Tommy Morelock, Rex Morelock; two daughters, Shelby Morelock, Frances Harless; grandson, Barry Harless; two sons-in-law, Wayne Harless, Clyde Gilliam; four brothers, Maldon Lane, Joe Lane, Robert Lane, Herald D. Lane; six sisters, Elizabeth Barrett, Marie Arnold, Betty Lay, Stella Lane, Mildred Peters and Etta Wilson.

Survivors include two daughters, Louvena Gilliam of Cynthiana, KY, Christine Blair and husband Darrell of Surgoinsville, TN; daughter-in-law, Novella Morelock; six grandsons, Brian Morelock, Michael Harless, Tracy Harless, Charles Gilliam, Todd Stubblefield, Mike Blair; seven granddaughters, Donna Wilkerson, Rhonda West, Sharon Harless, Diane Gilliam, Tina Johnson, Tamara Smith; Michelle Sissy Blair; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Ed Lane and wife, Rena; sister, Evelyn New.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The service will begin at 1 pm with Rev. Jonathan Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.

A special thank you to all the nurses, CNAs and staff at Wexford House who took care of mother. She loved you very much.
