Gregory Lee Williams

Gregory Lee Williams, 62, Kingsport, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home unexpectedly. Born in Kingsport, where he resided most of his life, he was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979-1987 during the Grenada invasion. Greg was currently employed with Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed spending time with people.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie "Reenie" Ketron Williams; parents, Lloyd and Mabel Williams; and brother-in-law, Harold Harless.

Greg is survived by his fiancée, Elda Combs of Kingsport; 2 daughters, Amy Stanley and husband, Tommy of Church Hill, and Katie Williams Falconer and husband, Mitchell of Kingsport; son, Will Barrett and wife, Jessica of Johnson City; 4 grandchildren, Holly Wilcoxson, Gracie Stanley, Hayden Wilcoxson and Kara Barrett; mother-in-law, Valerie Green Ketron of Kingsport; sister, Barbara Harless of Church Hill; 3 brothers, Lloyd Williams, Jr. and wife, Carol of Biloxi, Mississippi, Charlie Lynn Williams and wife, Phyllis of Athens, TN, and Shannon Williams and wife, Donna of Kingsport; and many nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Chaplain Daniel Winiger officiating. A private burial for the family will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.
