Gwendolyn Brock White, 88, passed away on November 12, 2011, at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
She was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, and graduated from Butler University with a B.S. in Chemistry. In 1947 she married Harold Keith White of Straughn, IN. They lived in Hanover, Indiana for 54 years where they raised three children.
Gwen was a faculty wife and a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church and the American Association of University Women. She loved her family and friends and was involved in a number of volunteer activities in the community. She was a talented needle worker and created beautiful quilts, afghans, and crochet table pieces. She enjoyed painting, bridge, and taking walks on the Hanover College campus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Myrtie Ann Brock, three brothers, and her husband of 60 years, Harold Keith White. She is survived by son, Lawrence K. White and wife Pat of Princeton Junction, NJ; daughter, Laura Swanson and husband Frank of Kingsport, TN; and son, James Matthew White and wife Sandy of Boone, IA; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
