H. Ansel Hite

H. Ansel Hite, 94, Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Hite was born in Sullivan County, TN on January 27, 1917 and was the son of John O. and Mae Poore Hite.

He retired from Eastman Kodak after more than 40 years service in Fiber Development. He was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was active in every church he was a member. He was currently a member of First Christian Church, Kingsport. He loved fishing, gardening and traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Zella Mae Hodges Hite, Rita Street Hite and Kathleen Arnold Hite; brothers, John William Bill Hite and James Fred Hite, Sr.; sisters, Helen Irene, Hannah Mildred and Nancy Ruth.

Surviving are his daughter and husband Phyllis June and Frank R. Johnson of Kingsport, stepdaughter and husband Patsy and Bud Leach of Piney Flats; grandsons Richard H. Johnson and fiancée Lisa McDavid of Rye Cove, VA; Phillip E. and Jill Custard Johnson of Wentzville, MO; step-grandson Todd and Judy Leach of Johnson City; step-granddaughter Jayne Ann and Gary Morrell of Bluff City; two step-great grandchildren, Sidney Morrell and Andrew Leach; brother Kyle Hite and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 12th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Paster Chris Alford and Patsy Leach officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City, TN.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
