H. Julian Brooks, 86, Rock Springs Community, died early Sunday morning, November 22, 2015, at his home. A lifelong resident of the Rock Springs Community, he was a veteran of the Korean War.
Julian was well known as owner and operator of Tire Town on West Center Street for many years. He also operated several other businesses in the Kingsport area. Julian was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church. He had been actively involved in many local organizations for the betterment of the community.
Julian is survived by his wife, Arbradella (Poodle) Galloway Brooks; one son, Rusty Brooks and wife, Helen, Kingsport; one grandson, Seth Brooks; one sister, Velma Frady, Church Hill, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Buddy Butler officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Military rites will be conducted by the American Legions Posts 3/265.
