H. Ronald "Ronnie" Harwood

H. Ronald “Ronnie” Harwood, 73, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, early Monday morning, February 12, 2024. Born in Kingsport, Ronnie had lived here his entire life. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett, class of ’68, where he played football. Ronnie also attended ETSU, where he played football. He was in sales and management for area car dealerships for 50 years before retiring in 2022 from Courtesy Chevrolet GMC dealership. Ronnie was a charter member of Airport Christian Church and was also a member of the Pharoah Car Club of Southwest Virginia.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Laddie and Phyllis Harwood; and brother, William “Bill” Harwood.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “DeeDee” McClanahan Harwood; brother, Bobby Lee Harwood and wife, Angela; sisters-in-law, Sara Selby and husband, Mark, Jane Harwood, Karen McClanahan; nieces and nephews, Heather Harwood, Holly Harwood, Josh Harwood, Aaron Selby, Jake Selby, and Katie McClanahan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with John F. Autry and Tim Smith officiating.
