Hancel "Steve" Stevens
Hancel "Steve" Stevens, 82, of Mt. Carmel, passed away Tuesday May 15th, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center. He was born in Bonny Blue, VA on June 14th, 1929. Steve attended Mt. Empire Community College and worked as a machinist at a steel mill in Cleveland, OH. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his loving caregiver of 24 years, Hattie Eller of Mt. Carmel; a sister, Eva Jean Shupe of Big Stone Gap, VA; and several stepchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow the funeral at 7:00 pm with Pastor Larry Campbell officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. in Mountain Home National Cemetery.
