Harlan D. Rector

Harlan Rector, 83, of Jonesborough, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Born in Washington County, TN, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Harlan had retired from the Kingsport Press and attended Pleasant View Church of Christ when his health permitted.

Harlan is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Rector; grandson, Cody Miller; parents, Milburn and Margaret Rector; two sisters and one brother.  He is survived by his daughters, Celisa Rector, Mavis Guthrie; sisters, Mavis Rupert, Peggy Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Cherry Hill FWB Church Cemetery, with Military honors by the American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN  37919.
